Church of Saint Francis of Assisi - Belo Horizonte, Brazil


The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi is a chapel in the Pampulha region of Belo Horizonte. It was designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer in the organic modern style. It is Brazil's first listed modern architectural monument and consists of four undulating concrete parabolas with outdoor mosaics.

The flag of Peru was adopted by the government of Peru in 1825, and modified in 1950. According to article 49 of the Constitution of Peru, it is a vertical triband with red outer bands and a single white middle band. It may be defaced with different emblems and has different names depending on its use. Flag Day in Peru is celebrated on 7 June, the anniversary of the Battle of Arica.

Stari Most - Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina


Mostar is situated on the Neretva River and is the fifth-largest city in the country. During the Ottoman era, Mostar was named after the bridge keepers who guarded the Stari Most over the Neretva. The Old Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most visited landmarks and is considered an exemplary piece of Islamic architecture in the Balkans.

Tupolev Tu - 144D - Zhukovsky, Russia


The Tu-144 was the world's first commercial supersonic transport aircraft with its prototype's maiden flight from Zhukovsky Airport on 31 December 1968, two months before the British-French Concorde.
In April 1978, a new version of the plane entered service - Tu-144D, which had, among other things, Kolesov turbojet engines; their lower fuel consumption allowed the aircraft to extend its range.

The national flag of Botswana consists of a sky blue field cut horizontally in the centre by a black stripe with a thin white frame. Adopted in 1966 to replace the Union Jack, it has been the flag of the Republic of Botswana since the country gained independence that year. It is one of the few African flags that utilises neither the colours of the Pan-Africanist movement nor the colours of the country's leading political party.

Bourscheid Castle - Luxembourg City, Luxembourg


Bourscheid Castle is located near the village of Bourscheid in north-eastern Luxembourg. The medieval castle stands on a site with archaeological evidence of structures dating back to Roman times. Standing majestically some 150 meters above the River Sûre, it is enclosed by a circular wall with 11 watchtowers.

With the passing of the "Sugar and Coffee Regulations Act" by the Queensland Government in August 1864 sugar became the industry of choice for the Mackay region. John Spiller planted the first sugar crop on the 1st of June 1865. Sugar became the economic foundation of the city.
