Gibraltar is not a sovereign state: its formal international relations are the responsibility of the Government of the United Kingdom. Since Brexit, it is not part of the European Union but is a participant in the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement.

A characteristic object towering over the territory is the Rock of Gibraltar. 

The Royal Gibraltar Post Office - in 2005, as the only postal company in the world outside of Great Britain, it received permission from Queen Elizabeth II to use the Royal prefix.
