#77 GF - Nottingham, England

Nottingham is a major sporting centre and, in October 2015, was named 'Home of English Sport'. The National Ice Centre, Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre and Trent Bridge International Cricket Ground are all based in or around the city, which is also the home of two professional football teams: Notts County, recognised as the world's oldest professional league club, and Nottingham Forest, famously two-time winners of the UEFA European Cup. The city has professional rugby, ice hockey and cricket teams; it also hosts the Aegon Nottingham Open, an international tennis tournament on the ATP and WTA tours. This accolade came just over a year after Nottingham was named as the UK's first City of Football.

The flag of Europe or the European flag consists of twelve golden stars forming a circle on a blue field. It was designed and adopted in 1955 by the Council of Europe (CoE) as a symbol for the whole of Europe.

The national flag of the United Kingdom is the Union Jack, also known as the Union Flag.

The design of the Union Jack dates back to the Act of Union 1801, which united the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Ireland (previously in personal union) to create the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. 

The flag consists of the red cross of Saint George (patron saint of England, which also represents Wales), edged in white, superimposed on the saltire of Saint Patrick (patron saint of Ireland), also edged in white, which is superimposed on the saltire of Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland). Wales is not represented in the Union Flag by Wales's patron saint, Saint David, because the flag was designed whilst Wales was part of the Kingdom of England.

 

British Airways - Chichester, England

British Airways celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2019. As one of the world’s most well-known airlines, it has a rich history. August 25th, 2019, in fact, marks an important date in BA’s legacy. 

It was on this day in 1919 Aircraft Transport and Travel Limited (AT&T) launched the world’s first daily international scheduled flight between London and Paris.

(1976-2003) - the world's only supersonic passenger aircraft. Holder of the fastest Atlantic crossing 2h 54min 45sec. Powered by four Rolls-Royce/SNECMA Olympus 593 engines. Cruising speed 2,150 kph, range 5,943 km. 

The name Concorde reflects the agreement concluded between the two countries and in direct translation means consent. Today, many people consider the plane an icon of aviation.

About 20 million tourists visit England each year. The first telephone book was established in England in 1880. There were 25 names in it. England has been nicknamed 'Albion' since the Roman invaders saw the white cliffs of Dover.

The British royal family comprises Queen Elizabeth II and her close relations. There is no strict legal or formal definition of who is or is not a member of the British royal family. 

An old custom requires all members of the British royal family to accept gifts and gifts. They cannot refuse a gift just because they do not like it.  

Glenariff Forest - Erith, England

The Rainbow trail includes crossing the Rainbow Bridge. During the walk, you can smell the delicate scent of bear's garlic, flowering violets, and wild strawberries. 

A glass of rum - London, England

In the past it was a drink of robbers, pirates, smugglers, and slavers, and for centuries it was a significant commodity being smuggled. 

The origin of the word rum is unclear: 

1. The name comes from the last syllable of the Latin word sugar - saccharum.

2. from the Dutch roemer - cups, because Dutch sailors called high-volume glasses rummers.

3. most likely - that the word rum comes from English rum, which in slang meant "tumult".
