#56 FOTW - Sofia, Bulgaria

The flag of Bulgaria is a tricolour consisting of three equal-sized horizontal bands of (from top to bottom) white, green, and red. The flag was first adopted after the 1877–1878 Russo-Turkish War when Bulgaria gained de facto independence. 

The national flag at times had as a supplement the state emblem, especially during the communist era. The current flag was re-established with the 1991 Constitution of Bulgaria and was confirmed in a 1998 law.

 

#29 GF - Sofia, Bulgaria

The world record for feasting was broken in Sofia. Over 3,000 inhabitants of the Bulgarian capital feasted at the longest table in the world, measuring 379.29 meters. The table, consisting of 410 smaller tables, is set in front of the Palace of Culture in the center of Sofia. Over 3,000 people sat down next to it and drank 500 liters of rakia in total.
