The Latvian produced the first jeans - the tailor Jacob W. Davis emigrated from Riga to the United States in 1854. 16 years later, one of his clients asked him to sew sturdy trousers for the lumberjack husband. This is how jeans were created, which with the financial help of Levi Strauss, a Latvian tailor patented and released to the mass market.

Teiči Nature Reserve - Riga, Latvia
The reserve is home to a number of rare or threatened species, including 38 protected species of flowering plants and ferns and 24 protected species of moss.
On one of the islands in the nature reserve, Siksala, a small group of Old Believers lived. Ethnic Russians, they arrived on Siksala island in the 17th century, escaping religious persecution, and still maintain their village.

#5 GF - Daugavpils, Latvia
Daugavpils - a city in Latvia on the Daugava River. The main center of Poles in Latvia. In Slobodka there has been a cemetery of 237 Polish soldiers killed during the battles with the Bolsheviks for Daugavpils in 1920.
