The pin-up girl fashion took over the US in the 1940s, among the male part of the country. Especially the young one, for example, the American soldiers fighting on the fronts of World War II, who were far from women on a daily basis.
They wanted to make up for it by seeing sweet, sexy girls - cut from the color press, printed on postcards, posters, and calendars.
