On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, the capital of Alabama, a black seamstress Rosa Parks, while traveling on a city bus, refused to leave the white seat. She was arrested ... but after the reaction of the local population, the case ended in the dismantling of racial segregation in buses by a judgment of the US Supreme Court. Rosa Parks was acquitted.
